About Dr. Wendy-Lee Nicole Bsela, Ed D., CPC

Dr. Wendy-Lee Bsela, Ed.D., is masterful at the art of coaching in the areas of Early Childhood, General, Special Education, leadership, as well as parent and child rights advocacy. Parents find her trustworthy and approachable.  Administrators, teachers, parents and students agree that learning is an exciting adventure, with Dr. Bsela at the helm. She fills any room with light hearted humor, endearing personal incidents and pithy illustrations. Dr. Bsela works with general and special education teachers, parents and their children. Excellence in multi-sensory instruction helps her reach the most challenged learner. Dr. Bsela is committed to finding ways to employ the five senses to engage students. Teaching keys to reducing the affective filter (emotional barrier), practicing more effective communication and finding practical solutions to common dilemmas, Wendy-Lee makes a seamless transition from classroom to corporate boardroom.

Dr. Bsela draws from her own multi-cultural background in her unique ability to provide an engaging learning environment for all. Dr. Bsela views life through a unique filter. Growing up in the multi-ethnic Caribbean island of Trinidad, and spending five years in the British Isles before coming to the United States, Wendy-Lee is passionately committed to recognizing and celebrating diversity and culture in its entirety.

A Doctorate in Education, with an emphasis in Urban Education Leadership K-12, was conferred upon Dr. Bsela by the University of Southern California in 2008.  She earned her Master of Science Degree in Special Education from National University, Costa Mesa, in 2003.  She received her Masters of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Boise State University in 1997.  The University of Miami is where Dr. Bsela received her undergraduate education, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/History in 1993.

Dr. Bsela's passion for teaching has led her to such varied areas as Orange County, California, Miami-Dade County, Florida and Boise, Idaho.  Highlights of her professional experience include informing, educating and supporting parents in the intervention, evaluation and Special Education eligibility process, mentoring teachers and assistants in servicing students with special needs, and leading and facilitating student transition from Pre-school to Kindergarten, and Elementary to Middle and Junior High School. Dr. Bsela has worked extensively with English Language Learners and was a member of an early intervention screening team, using her command of Spanish and French in working with Hispanic and Haitian immigrant preschool age children and their families in Southern Florida. As an Educational Program Coordinator, she was also instrumental in rebuilding preschools and kindergartens in Miami-Dade County, Florida after the destruction caused by Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

Dr. Bsela has worked in the International Community in a corporate setting. She was the Human Resources Manager for an International Petroleum company that serviced the oil, natural gas and chemical industry.  The company which is based in Trinidad assisted corporations from around the world, facilitating their transition to Trinidad. Dr. Bsela is not only well versed in international cultures, but in corporate cultures.  As a coach and presenter she researched, prepared and delivered training and development in the areas of risk management, procurement, staffing, benefits and safety. She was adept at finding the best fit between employee and position.
