ABOUT DOLORES
For me, it's been an exciting journey discovering my personal dreams and turning them into reality! I am a certified professional coach and my passion is teaching people to move beyond the obstacles holding them back from achieving their dreams. I successfully trained, mentored and coached many people during my 20-year career in the pharmaceutical industry. During that career I was very successful as a corporate trainer, district manager, division manager and regional business director. I learned the value of mentors and personal coaches to navigate through the corporate environment. Through focus and dedication, I was able to determine my personal path to success. I also discovered a passion for coaching others to achieve their potential and succeed in their careers and made a decision to leave the corporate world and pursue my personal dream of coaching and mentoring others to success. I am an experienced career coach and specialize is career, life success and personal development coaching. I also facilitate workshops on many topics, including using internet technology, social media, networking and more to successfully compete in today's job market.

I'll try to briefly tell you "my story". It's very honest and personal but it's my story so there's really no other way to tell it.
After visiting Fresh Start recently to pick up my Harvey Mackay scholarship I found myself reflecting on this past years' events. I came to the realization that I'd come quite far in the past 9 months, thanks in great part to the wonderful women and services at Fresh Start.
I imagine I didn't appear to be the "normal" client who walks through the door at Fresh Start if there is such a thing. I have a bachelor's degree, I live(d) in a 4,000 sq ft home in a nice part of town, I'm well dressed and I had a spouse who made 6 figures. But this is where the facade ends. I had a great deal in common with the many women I met at Fresh Start. I am a recovering alcoholic (4 1/2 years sober) going through a divorce and I was completely terrified as to how I would survive financially. Being an unemployed stay-at-home mom for the past 7 years had been extremely fulfilling but did little for my resume. I needed ideas for getting back on my feet after being cut off financially as punishment for filing for divorce. I was lost, lacked self-confidence and felt I had nothing to offer. Who would want to hire me? I was especially overwhelmed at the idea of drafting a resume and was literally frozen with fear and had trouble moving forward and taking the next step.
Fresh Start was the key to finding myself again and getting on the path to self-reliance. I had learned about Fresh Start many years back during outpatient rehab at Banner Thunderbird. While I didn't use the services at the time, I never forgot the fitting name...FRESH START. When I filed for divorce I decided this was a good place to start because I knew I needed help. My first visit to the center gave me a renewed sense of hope. It was so wonderful to know that these amazingly positive women were there to offer guidance and not judgment.
Fresh Start is also where I met Dolores Seright. Dolores helped me to see things in myself that I couldn't see. Thanks to a parents' resource website I'd founded many years before I had a huge network of friends and acquaintances in the Valley. She encouraged me to tap into this network because these people really knew me and the kind of person I was. This was the key to obtaining 2 part-time positions, one of which may become full-time in the future. More than anything, Dolores helped me to see that I had a LOT to offer and that I would be an asset to any organization. I am responsible, intelligent, self-reliant, creative, outgoing, honest and web and computer savvy...and I own it!
I'm not sure what my future holds or what my career of choice will be, but I now believe the sky's the limit. I also know that I'm fortunate enough to have friends and family, Fresh Start, Dolores Seright and Harvey Mackay on my side. I'm filled with gratitude and thank God daily for the many blessings in my life. I know if I maintain this "attitude of gratitude" things will continue to get better and setbacks will only be speed bumps in the road of life.

I absolutely LOVE the ladies laptop bag too. I have yet to go shopping at Macy's but can't wait to find something fun. As for Harvey's books, I've always loved "Dig Your Well Before You're Thirsty" but it took Dolores' reminding me that I'd done just that and now just needed to start drinking. Harvey's newest book "Use Your Head to Get Your Foot in the Door" is an easy and entertaining read with tons of great advice I look forward to putting into action. - HOLLY
