Bridging the Gap Between Conflict and Peace
Thank you for visiting my little place on the web. My name is Michael B. Misenheimer. I am a Certified Professional Life Coach, Certified Mediator, Ordained Minister and a Certified Seeker. I have devoted my life to being an agent of change in the lives of all with whom I come in contact. I have personally made it my mission in life to contribute to the healing of the world.
I grew up a product of a broken home. I ran the streets and engaged in behavior that some would find appalling. I struggled to come to terms with who I was. I often contemplated suicide many times in my adolescent days. I had to learn to love and accept who and where I was in life. My journey to become the person I knew I was meant to be began. I undertook lots of reading and studying of self-help books, listened to audio books, attended retreats and workshops all in an effort to make my life what I wanted it to be. I learned to process and understand my conflict inside and out and overcame great adversity. I now show my clients how to do the same.
Due to my experiences, where I came from and who I am, I most certainly understand that conflict, whether internal or external, is a natural part of life. It is not so much what the conflict is as much as it is how we handle the conflict that makes us rise above and become better in all that we do. I teach my clients the skills necessary to overcome conflict. I do this by assisting clients in understanding the conflict at hand and brainstorming concrete ways to overcome the conflict. In addition, I work with clients on topics such as:
- Handling and Processing Conflict;
- Relaxing with Stress Management Techniques;
- Overcoming Negative Self-Talk;
- Changing Mistaken Beliefs;
- Visualizing;
- Enhancing Self-Esteem;
- Being Assertive;
- Identifying and Expressing Feelings;
- Meditating;
- Setting Goals;
- Creating Lasting Change;
- Motivating One’s Self;
- Remaining Accountable to One’s Self;
- Coping with Panic and Anxiety Disorders;
- Overcoming Your Past;
- GLBT Issues;
- Finding Your Life’s Purpose;
- Connecting with Your Spiritual Self; and
- Accepting One’s Self
I see life coaching from a holistic approach: Mind, Body, Soul and Spirit. I empower clients to find the solutions to life’s conflicts. Ultimately, I put the client in charge of the outcome while facilitating the process. My approach to clients is very client-centered. Clients will get out of the coaching process what they put in. I am here to empower clients to give all of themselves to the process as that is when real change can begin.
I hold an undergraduate degree in psychology. In addition, I hold a masters degree in conflict resolution and peacebuilding. Currently, I am working on my doctoral degree in holistic life coaching.
