Professional Certified Life Coach/Mentor and Speaker
Life's uncertainties made certain...Are you struggling with life's uncertainties? Are you living "someone else's" life rather than living the life you were meant to live? Are you stuck in a rut filled with doubt, discontent, and disillusion? Life is full of uncertainties and sometimes it's hard to discern what is real and what is a false belief. So many of us have false beliefs and we tend to live our lives according to those beliefs. Unfortunately, it is sometimes those beliefs that bind us; those beliefs that keep us from moving forward and becoming who we were really meant to be; who we really are. I can help you to find the potential you truly possess. I can help you define who you really are and motivate you to set goals and take the necessary steps. Don't let life pass you by and miss out on the chance to be all you can be! Let me help - that's who I am; that's what I do.
Something About Mary
Education: I am currently a graduate student at Liberty University pursuing a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. It is my goal to become a licensed therapist who will give sound, Christian counsel to those seeking help with the difficulties of marriage and parenting along with, and to enhance, my coaching/mentoring services. I hold a BS in Psychology and Counseling and a BS in Business Management.
Work History: I have had experience working with the mentally disabled, several years teaching cognitive living skills icluding Teamwork, Communication, Stress Management, Anger Management, Problem Solving, Values, Motivation, Time Mangaement,Life Planning and Career Planning/Job Seeking Skills at a prison; I have taught CED classes and have had a lifetime of helping, advising, counseling and mentoring to friends, family, co-workers, youth, acquaintances, and oftentimes - strangers.
One of the most important exercises you will do is learn to think for yourself.
I believe that education is a never-ending pursuit and I learn every day whether from other people or literature. I continue to study on my own, through college classes, internet classes, seminars, conferences and literature. However, I believe life experiences go a long way toward helping others. My own life experiences (including the trials of a son diagnosed as terminally ill) have taught me patience, endurance, love, compassion, tolerance, faith, humility, humbleness, empathy, and assertiveness to name few. I pride myself on my ability to never judge another person no matter the race, class, culture, age, gender, religion or history. I will always seek to understand where you, the client, are coming from, where you are at, and where you want to be. I believe in honesty, truth, integrity, morality, peace and justice.
Length of service and the Client’s role: Coaching will be determined on an as-needed basis. I have your best interest at heart and together you and I will determine just how long the advising process needs to last. Much of that will depend on your willingness to do your part as well as me doing my part. This is definitely a team effort. You will plant the seed of your choice and I will provide the tools for growth. Understand that you may be required to do some “homework” such as journaling or exercises in building self-esteem, stress mangament, anger management, etc. Exactly what you as an individual will do is determined on your need and what you are hoping to accomplish.
Emergencies: Understand that coaching and mentoring is for basic services of helping a client to understand and motivate themselves to be all that they can be in every area of life - career, relationships, and self-esteem to name a few. I do not and am not qualified to help anyone with a mental illness. I would refer anyone who suspects they are suffering from mental illness to seek professional help from a licensed therapist or psychologist. I am not qualified to handle emergencies, so in such cases, you should dial the emergency number of 911 or other emergency # available to you in your area.
Unanswered questions: If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
What People Say About Mary
"This is the first time I've ever given a testimonial. However, I cannot pass up an opportunity to share how Mary has inspired me in my life. Probably all of us at one point in our lives face obstacles or events that leave us feeling like failures, alone or just wanting to crawl in a hole. It is at those times when we need to know someone is in our corner, coaching us, cheering for us and most of all, believing in us. Mary is one those rare individuals who has touched my life profoundly. She has a sincere desire to help others be the best they can be (and most of us don't even know what that is). She has the unique quality of looking beyond the surface to see deep down inside and helping one discover their own strengths - strengths most of us don't even know we possess. If you are at a crossroads in your life and don't know where to turn, I would encourage you to also contact LIVE FREE."
Sincerely, Lynn Musgrove
"The weekend that I spent attending the LIVE FREE seminar changed my life. I was torn between life-changing decisions. Mary's encouraging words and her talking with me about my options lead me to make the necessary steps to ensure my life was on the right path and enlightened me in ways to make my dreams become reality. Through her strength and wisdom she helps her clients grow to reach their full potential. I would recommend LIVE FREE to anyone that needs support and encouragement in their lives."
