About Mike
Mike has over 30 years of experience helping people realize their dreams. Graduating from seminary and serving as an ordained minister, Mike worked with students and inner city ministries for 25 years. During that time he was able to found and direct the, The Third Step House, a residential treatment program for both men and women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction.
After moving to New York City, Mike founded and served as director for the, Chemical Recovery Ministries, a world-wide recovery program. During this time he also co-authored, Some Sat in Darkness, a spiritural guide to recovery.
Graduating from New York University School of Social Work with a Masters degree in Social Work, Mike continued spiritural counseling with the Church and later established a successful private mental health practice.
As a result of seeing literally hundreds of clients in individual and group sessions, Mike began to realize that many problems his clients faced were not serious pathologies but were issues that could be addressed more effectively by what Mike refers to as Transformative Life Coaching.
Mike states,"So many of my clients needed someone to help them evaluate their strengths, establish specific goals and then to believe in them as they implemented their plans. This strength based, rather than disease based model has helped many finally move past what seemed like insurmountable problems. Life coaching isn't therapy, consultation or advice giving. You are simply assisting people in determining what it is that they really want and then helping them make a plan to see those dreams come true. People want and need someone committed to their success and that is my goal with each and every client!"
