As a life coach I will help you discover your life's path. I ask the questions and you come up with the answers. Answers that will provide the life balance that you have been searching for. It was Socrates who said, “To be a great coach, you don’t need the answers. You do need the questions.” My experiences as highlighted by my favourite personal quote “I am the sum total of all that I have read, listened to, done, spoken and felt,” along with the recently concluded training with Coaches Institute International brings into sharper focus my purpose for being. As an experienced business management professional, I have always had the human touch, the passion and love for developing people. My style of management has always been to work with people helping them to reach their full potential and achieving their personal and professional goals. My attitude towards customer service has been one which fosters a win- win solution taking the needs of all parties into consideration. As a child growing up because I always asked questions my father thought that I would have become a lawyer. He was close but not quite there, I married one. My husband on the other hand thinks that I ask too many questions and that I believe he has the answers to all the hundred and one questions that I ask. I have now found a way of using my many questions to help persons who will seek my services. Successful life coaching is all about asking the right questions. It is about helping your client decide for themselves what their goals are and how they can achieve them. It requires good listening skills and the ability of the coach to understand what the client is saying. It is the client’s responsibility to identify, prioritize and take appropriate action needed for their success. It is about helping clients to clearly articulate their desires and remain focused on their objectives, and to be accountable for achieving the desired results.
Life coaches are not counselors, advisors, expert consultants or therapists. Great coaches are motivators and enablers. They are also passionate about helping their clients succeed. Great coaches have a sincere desire to assist others.
I am proud and grateful for the training that I received from Coaches Institute International and I know they are always there to provide the support, retraining and retooling that are needed to keep their graduates abreast of innovations in the field of coaching. I will ask the right questions to help guide and motivate my clients to a higher level of success and a more fulfilling life. I will serve my clients with integrity and the high level of ethics that I have always demonstrated in my professional and personal life.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME
I hold a Master of Business Administration Degree from The University of the West Indies, Centre for Management Development, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. I have had over 25 years experience in Senior Management positions, culminating as General Manager before taking early retirement to pursue my passion. I have served as a board member on a number of professional, educational, business and sporting entities. My expertise lies in Human Resource Development and general management. I have been married for 37 years and am the mother of three adult children. I am currently the Managing Director of Celestial Self Development Centre, (CSDC) a small business where I offer services in Soft Skills Training, Self Development Workshops, Retreat Facilitation, Human Resource Audits & Interventions, and Motivational Speaking. My personal library which comprises business, self development, spiritual, motivational and religious books has been converted into a public library and is housed at CSDC. This in my quest to share this valuable resource with the general public. I was recently certified as a professional life coach with Coaches Institute International, this formal training has brought together all my other skills developed over the years as a Human Resource Development practitioner and someone who has cultivated a rich spiritual life. My exposure to various self development courses and workshops and the types of books I have read has assisted in preparing me for venturing into the field of Life Coaching. I have over the years in an informal way mentored and coached numerous people. It is not uncommon for me to be approached by individuals commending me for the impact that I have had on them through my interaction with them over time. I am also a Certified Heal Your Life, Achieve Your Dreams Workshop Leader. I look forward to assisting my clients to take responsibility and being accountable for achieving their life’s goals.
