Valerie E. Thompson, CPC
Certified Professional Life Coach
I am a Certified Professional Coach, Author, Writer, and Mother, and as a result of career success in the field of finance, my life story is now in the National Sound Archives of Great Britain. I spent fourteen years with Salomon Brothers (now part of Citigroup) and for seventeen years thereafter ran my own business providing recruitment, training, outplacement, and consulting services to investment banks. I combined this with motherhood, raising two children, mostly as a single parent, for whom I was sole financial provider. In the 80s I formally studied New Thought/Positive Thinking for three years under the late Revd. Nona Coxhead-Bell. I am author of Mastering The Euromarkets (Irwin Professional 1996). I am right-brained, creative and intuitive by nature, as well as an HSP (highly sensitive person) and thus I understand the positive contribution sensitivity can play in achieving success.
Prospering Through Coaching And Change
The need to express, experience and live ever more expansively comes with being human. Age, success, wealth, etc, do not diminish yearnings or put a stop to dreams, be they emotional and/or material. Likewise, the need for acceptance, encouragement, praise and support, as well as honest feedback, respectfully delivered, is lifelong and success and wealth neutral. A coach understands these oftenoverlooked facts about human nature.
Coaching is about change;initiating change and managing change, and is often sought as a result of unwelcome change. That a person can prosper through change, even the unwanted variety, is one of my core beliefs.
It Takes Courage To Go For Change
It takes courage, determination and effort, however, to go for change in search of more and better. Simply settling on precisely what 'more and better' ought to involve can be a challenge, as can, depending on the changes sought, the transition phase and subsequent adjustment.
My job as a coach is to help a client work out what they want and why, and aid them in setting appropriate goals, creating step-by-step action plans, and following through on those plans.
And my personal goal as a coach is to do my utmost to ensure that each and every less-to-more journey my clients make, from the smallest to the largest, proves a fulfilling and rewarding experience.
