Laura Newhart Ph. D., CPC
Certified Professional Life Coach,
Specializing in Womens Transitions
We all experience change. Life, in fact, is change. For women especially, change can at times appear devastating. Women often don't realize that unexpected and/or unpleasant changes in our lives are not personal failures nor are they due to our own shortcomings. They are actually the products of social phenomena beyond our control. Even better behind these changes lie incredible opportunities. Let me help you harness the power behind these times of transition to create the life you've always wanted. Transitions can occur in many different areas of our lives: Relationships, Health and Wellness, Emotional, Financial, Professional, and Spiritual. Are you beginning or ending a significant relationship? Losing weight? Establishing an exercise plan? Going back to school? Changing careers? Becoming a parent for the first time? Sending your children out into the world? Bringing your parents back into your home? With these, or any other life-changing transitions, I can help you to clearly identify your goals and to develop a strategy of simple and surprisingly easy to accomplish steps to achieve those goals. More importantly, I can provide you with the motivation, accountability, and unwavering support that make creating the life of your dreams as much fun as living it!

"Dr. Newhart,
Now that my grade is posted and this can't be construed as bribery, I just wanted to take a minute to let you know that I think you are an amazing teacher. I feel that you actually had a genuine interest in our understanding of the material and the fact that you were so helpful in your email correspondence was also a nice change. Usually I get the nearly automated response that I should just review the guidelines or syllabus instead of an actual helpful email. I was told this course would be rather difficult by several people but the way you taught the course made the material very easy to understand, and I feel that my grade reflects more of the way you taught the class rather than the effort I put into studying. I've said all this just to say you are a wonderful teacher, and the university could use more professors like you. Thanks for a great semester."

"I am writing to tell you about a wonderful learning experience I had with Dr. Laura Newhart. My area of study is ethics, and I wanted to take an independent study course related to ethics as part of my program of study. Because of her interest and expertise in this area, Dr. Newhart graciously agreed to serve as faculty mentor for my independent study. Dr. Newhart generously shared her time, knowledge, and expertise with me, first guiding the development of my course of study and then guiding me through the studies. I found Dr. Newhart to be a very stimulating mentor her knowledge (coupled with her enthusiasm) was instrumental to my learning (and enjoyment) of this experience. I truly expanded my scope of knowledge and view of ethical theory from my study with her. I believe she is a talented educator, and I certainly appreciate her role in guiding my personal growth in the area of ethics."
