What is a life coach?
A life coach helps a client to draft a plan to focus on their dreams and goals, and then, on a regular basis, holds them accountable to those goals. I like to say "it helps you get past the past, and helps you own your own future." It's like having someone in your corner to keep you on task and to remind you of how capable you are.
I am drawn to coaching because I truly believe that, even in trying circumstances, I have to try to live from a place of purpose and passion, and I'd like to help others to do the same. Even when money is tight, or there is illness in my family, or whatever else is going on, I can choose to focus on the negative, or try to accentuate the positive.
Sometimes, we can get bogged down by the "things" in our lives, whether those things are other people, material stuff, or just the crap rolling around in our heads. We lose focus on the stuff that matters. We can feel like we're living our life to please others - the boss, the family, the partner, everyone else.
But the truth is, If you don't live your life, who will? Dare to dream!
Bio:
Bridget LeRoy comes from Hollywood royalty. Great-grandfather Harry Warner founded Warner Brothers, grandfather Mervyn LeRoy produced/directed over 80 Hollywood classics (including "The Wizard of Oz"), father Warner LeRoy was the iconic restaurateur who created Maxwell's Plum, Tavern on the Green, and the Russian Tea Room. Bridget lives in the Hamptons with her husband, art consultant/yoga instructor Eric Johnson, and children, after living in New Hampshire for the past nine years and owning the New London Inn. She was nominated four consecutive times as Innkeeper of the Year.
Bridget co-founded The East Hampton Independent newspaper, the Children's Museum of the East End, and is the author of two books and many screenplays.
